Welcome to JFK Elementary.
JFK Statement of Purpose
JFK will support the WSD ends statement by being a proactive, calm and nurturing space that values the wellness of students and staff
It is our collective responsibility to dig into the persistent conditions of inequity and oppression that impact experiences and relationships in our schools and community.
We will hold ourselves accountable through ongoing reflection and action using an equity lens.
We will regularly review and implement the resources needed to build a social justice school system that supports the well being and success of students, families, colleagues, and broader community members – especially those who are Black, Brown, Indigenous, and People of Color.
It is our belief that by fostering whole student well being, our student’s academic successes will empower them to achieve WSD’s graduation expectations.

Meet Our Administration

Sara Raabe
JFK Principal
I’m proud to be starting my 11th year in ϳԹ and my 27th year in education. I spent 12 years as a classroom teacher and have been an administrator for the past 14 years. I love working in ϳԹ because of the strong sense of community and the incredible students and families we’re lucky to serve.
I believe deeply in the power of public education and in creating school environments and systems that support all students in thriving both academically and socially. Outside of school, I’m the proud mom of a 20-year-old daughter who is a junior at the University of Tampa. I also share my home with two quirky cats—Fred and Violet—and the world’s most perfect dog, George. I’m excited for another great year of learning and growing together!

Maybeline Lopez
JFK Principal
I’m excited to begin my 13th year in the ϳԹ and 4th year as an administrator. I’ve worked in education for over 18 years, with a focus on early childhood and special education. I’m passionate about creating inclusive learning environments for all students. Over the past few years, I’ve worked closely with the district and community to expand access to high-quality preschool here at JFK. Outside of school, I’m a proud mom of three amazing kids. We love to travel and spend as much time outdoors as we can! I’m looking forward to a year filled with learning, joy, and connections.

Jarod Wunneburger
Assistant Principal
My name is Jarod Wunneburger (pronounced like you “won” a burger in a contest!) and I can’t wait to begin my 1st year in the ϳԹ. I previously was Director of Programs for Farm and Wilderness in Plymouth, VT and before that I taught math, was an academic dean, and founded an afterschool program all in NYC. My approach focuses on clear expectations paired with genuine support. I love working directly with students, coaching teachers, and partnering with families to solve problems and celebrate successes. Outside of school you’ll find me working with my therapy dog Atlas (a gentle Samoyed who works with kids), playing saxophone, or baking! I’m looking forward to getting to know the JFK community.
