– The WIDA Consortium has developed English Language standards and assessments that the state of Vermont uses when teaching and assessing ELLs.  The WIDA website is full of planning tools that support teachers working with ELLs, as well as professional development opportunities and a teacher login site for assessment trainings.

– The Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) provides Title III ELL grants to districts with large numbers of ELLs.  Their web page provides information about these grants, home language surveys, WIDA assessments and other ELL resources.

– Jeff Zwiers is a senior researcher at the Stanford Graduate School of Education where he focuses his research on classroom practices that develop academic language.  His website is filled with research and useful practices and tools that he has developed to support ELLs learn academic language.

– This website has lots of short, accessible articles on different topics around teaching ELLs for both teachers and families.
